Hi there,
Setting up my site has actually been great and good for my strategic thinking, but there are a few things I want to tweak in the business before the site goes live. Is it possible to have the site complete, hosted, but completely invisible to the real world until I'm ready? I feel a little exposed here! (alisonchristou.com)icon

Hi,

You can just save the pages instead of 'saving and publishing', that will hide the links to them.

Um - hi again - I can't seem to get rid of the Welcome page, so the site's still visible. Any thoughts?

Hi,
yes, you can't completely get rid of the site once it is set up, but you can remove the content from the home page and put "coming soon" on there.

Would that be sufficient? also, google won't index your site for several weeks yet, so no one will stumble across it, even if they search for you name.

Sure - I'm OK with Welcome and Contact staying, but could it please just be 'Contact'? (sole trader). Also, that little blurb in the header "Government-stakeholder interface blah blah....." sounds cheesy now. Could you please take it off for me?
Many, many thanks. I know this is a free thing.... thanks 4 being available on hot Brisbane Sunday nighticon

Hiya,

no worries about being available... happy to help out.

You can edit the blurb on the settings page, and nopt sure what you mean by wanting it to be just 'contact' - that's what it says now, as that's what you have named that page...

Yep - thanks, I've got it exactly how I want it. Can I just say that freesites is fantastic? I'm heading to Canada in May where a few of us global adjudicators will be forming a research and practice alliance. As the coordinator, I will SO be using freesites for our site! I'm a tech dummy and the setup is very user friendly. Thanks to all involved! Aicon

Hi,

Great to hear! - we have tried to make it as easy to use as possible, and if you have any suggestions, we're always open to them!

Thanks,
Roger
