I'm thinking about joining Freesites and had a few queries that it would be great if you could answer.

The domain name questions were a bit confusing. What's the difference between domain name registration and domain name hosting and what are the respective costs? Is it possible to have the domain name hosted somewhere else and only pay for the website hosting?

I have the Outlook program installed. Is there an extra cost to have an email link to an Outlook screen on each page?

I am thinking about setting up a Paypal account for a service I want to offer on my site. Is it possible to have a Paypal button on my website, again at no extra cost?

Thanks.

Hi,

domain name registration means to register the domain, so that you own it. The hosting is a place to put your website files, which we provide. Domain registration costs $60 for two years, while the hosting costs $12 per month. You can register the domain with whoever you want, but your hosting needs to be with us.

I'm not sure what you mean by "link to an Outlook screen"? Do you mean that you want you have your email address on each page? The system comes with a contact form, and when someone fills it out it sends an email to your registered email address. If you want to put your email address on each page you can do that, but we don't recommend posting your email address on any website, because it will get collected by spambots.

You can use a paypal button on any page as many times as you want at no extra cost. We have a lot of people who use paypal with their site.
