Hi there, I've started work on my Freesites site and I've got quite a few formatting issues that it would be great if you could answer. My site is www.eloquencecopywriting.com.au Given that it's a template, is there any way for me to easily: increase the size of the company name right at the top of each webpage? At the moment it's slightly smaller than Heading 1. decrease the space between the links for subpages on the left? (there seems to be an unnecessarily large space between them) slightly decrease the width of the main text block on each page? I'm also having a few probs with headings, tables, bullets and fonts. On my home page, there are two types of headings. I want the last two headings in the unboxed section to follow the style of the other headings but, despite removing the original formatting, I can't do this (originally I imported the text from a plain text doc). I'm having trouble with the table on my Copywriting Processes page. I've worked out a bit about formatting tables but I can't change the borders - I choose the border I want to try (double lines), press okay, but nothing happens. The same thing goes when I try to experiment with background colours. I've ditched bullet style because I can't work out how to do bullets with double spacing (bigger bullets would be good too). Is there any way these changes can be easily made in bullet style (if not asterisks look ok). I can't set the font on two of the subpages for Useful articles, Unclutter your office and Business networking. In each case I went through and changed all the text to Ariel and saved it, but it reverted back to the default font. And one more issue -- my About page is actually on the home page address - is there any way to fix this easily or will I have to do a cut and paste? Thanks for your help! |

No, but we can do that for you. decrease the space between the links for subpages on the left? (there seems to be an unnecessarily large space between them) Yes, we're fixing that for this template. slightly decrease the width of the main text block on each page? Sure, I have made this change to the template. I'm also having a few probs with headings, tables, bullets and fonts. On my home page, there are two types of headings. I want the last two headings in the unboxed section to follow the style of the other headings but, despite removing the original formatting, I can't do this (originally I imported the text from a plain text doc). Fixed - added a heading 2 style to the template I'm having trouble with the table on my Copywriting Processes page. I've worked out a bit about formatting tables but I can't change the borders - I choose the border I want to try (double lines), press okay, but nothing happens. The same thing goes when I try to experiment with background colours. I have set this in your table manually, (by editing the code and adding it in for the table) as I didn't see the option in the editor to have double lines. I've ditched bullet style because I can't work out how to do bullets with double spacing (bigger bullets would be good too). Is there any way these changes can be easily made in bullet style (if not asterisks look ok). Bullet size follows font size, generally, but I'll have to get our CSS design person to comment on that, as I don't know enough about it. I can't set the font on two of the subpages for Useful articles, Unclutter your office and Business networking. In each case I went through and changed all the text to Ariel and saved it, but it reverted back to the default font. Looks like you have this one sorted, unless I don't understand what you mean exactly. And one more issue -- my About page is actually on the home page address - is there any way to fix this easily or will I have to do a cut and paste? Looks like you have this one sorted |

Regarding the bullets with double spacing, you can hold down shift and press enter at the end of each bullet item to add a line break before the next bullet, then hit enter for the next bullet. This will produce gaps between each bullet point, which is what I think you mean by double spacing.

We have adjusted the spacings for you on the subpage links in the navigation, and increased the header font size for the company name.

Hi Roger, thanks for all that - it's all looking a lot better. I still have trouble getting rid of the formatting when I want to apply a heading style, but for some reason when I change the font of the heading first, and then get rid of the formatting, it reverts to the original style I've chosen. The business name up top, and the subpage links, look great. Still having a problem with the font on the Business networking page - it's not Ariel like the other pages. I'll fiddle around with this for a bit longer. I have changed all the styled headings to black - I hope that doesn't stuff up the html and cause probs later! I'm still finding that when I type the website address into the address bar it comes up with the About me page. Cheers Catherine |

Yes, the about page is showing as the default, because you used that page which was called the site's welcome page, and is numbered 1 as your about page. you can swap them by copying and pasting. If you want me to fix the networking page, then let me know and I'll jump in and do it when you have finished editing it. The reason it is being troublesome is because you pasted from Word in that page |

Thanks, I've changed the Home and About pages around and they're fine. It would be great if you could change the font on the Business Networking page to Ariel. |
