Hello

Firstly;

I have almost finished my website and have all the pages ready to go. I noticed the 'Contact Us' page remains in red even though I have clicked on 'Save and Publish'. Why is this so and how do I make it Published like the others?

Secondly;

I have my own email address and just a bit confused about the free service that's offered where customer emails can be forwarded to my sign up email address for free. My sign up email address is different to the email address I use on my website. Am I making sense? My business email is info@kellybeans.com.au - so if people type this in their email, will it take them to my Optus Email address inbox as this is what I would like to happen? I am happy to access my emails in my Optus account so I assume this free service will suit??? Also, I have a second business email address which I have on my business cards only which is kelly@kellybeans.com.ay - this is not on the website though (just a second one I use on my cards). So can this be forwarded to my optus email for free also?

Thirdly;

On the home page do I need to list my actual business name on the keywords list section? I wasn't sure. If people know about me and look up my business name then I am thinking if I don't list my business name on the keywords list then it won't come up on Google?

Thank you,
Kelly

Hi,
I have just logged in, and the contact page is blue.

Emails:

You have listed info@kellybeans.com.au as the contact email address in your site. So you'll need to get us to set that up for you. We can set that up and have all email sent to it forward to your optus email address. We can also do that to your kelly@kellybeans.com.au email address. I have gone ahead and sent them up for you, and they should be working now. you can go ahead and send emails to them to test and you should receive your test emails at your optus account.

Keywords.
Google doesn't pay any attention to the keywords, rather the content of your pages, as in the text in the page itself, and the page title. You should be putting as much as you can about what people would search for in your page titles. And you should leave out your business name. If youple already know your business name then they will be able to find you with little problem, it's the people who don't know you exist yet that you want to be able to find you.

Hi Roger

1/ You are so helpful and thanks for your quick reply! Yes I did notice soon after that the Contact page went blue so thanks.

2/ I will test out the emails shortly - so this is free I assume (for both to be directed to my Optus).

3/ So with the keywords you say to mention as much as you can in the 'Page title' section. At the moment I just put the name of the category in the 'Page title' section. For example; one of my category pages is called 'Ribbon'. So I put the Page Title as 'Ribbon' as well. So should I put a more specific Page Title like '10mm Satin Ribbon' etc. In other words be more specific in each Page Title and not just repeat the category heading? I assume all keywords listed must be mentioned in the body of each page - that is what I have done.

4/ I have unticked the box so it is now live. Should I now cancel with my other web host? When that's done is it just a case of adding www.kellybeans.com.au under your name server or whatever it's called and go to where I registered both my domain names (Webcity)? Just a reminder I want www.kellybeans.com.au to be my actual website address and www.bombonierebrisbane.com.au will transfer to this. At the moment if I type in Bomboniere Brisbane in Google it doesn't show. I know there is no guaranttee from what I understand this will happen or do I need to give it time given I just went live?

5/ One more thing. I read somewhere on your help page that you can create links to take the view to other category pages on your site. I want to do this but can't find it. Thanks

Email forwards are free, yes.

Keywords - not to do with the page specifically , but what people would search for to find your site.

Both domains will show the same website.

When you change the nameserver settings for kellybeans.com.au there might be a delay of up to 48 hours as the change travels thoughout the internet. duruing this time, both your site and email might be down for some people.

5 - not sure what you mean there, are you asking about linking to a page in your site from another one?

Thanks again Roger for your speedy reply! Yes sorry just the last question was about how I can link the reader to a page from another one. For example; if the reader is in my 'Glass Jars' page, it may say please see 'Personalised Labels' for more information. The reader then clicks on 'Personalised Labels' on the body of my Glass Jars page to take them to this category.

Hi,

http://support.mediatwo.com.au/m2editor_tips.php#a2c

Linking to pages
Follow these simple steps to create a link in a page to another page in your site:

1. Get the page address of the page you want to link to. Select it and copy it.

2. Go to edit the page you want to place the link in, type your link, eg: 'click here to...' or whatever you want it to say.

3. Select the word(s) you want to link and then click the link button on the toolbar

4. In the new window that appears, for Source, leave the drop down menu blank and paste the address if you copied it at step 1 to the right of that menu.

5. If you want the link to open in a new browser window, you can select "blank" option for 'Target'.

6. Click 'Insert' button .

Hi Roger - thanks heaps for the link info! So easy to do. My website is now complete and have changed name server settings over to you for www.kellybeans.com.au

On my site/settings page is still only says www.bombonierebrisbane.com.au - should it now have www.kellybeans.com.au added?

Is there anything else required to be done to get things moving?

One other thing - are the monthly hosting payments automatically charged on my card? I assume so.

Thanks,
Kelly

Hi,

yes, the payment will automaticaly be charged.

your accoutn will always say bombonierebrisbane.com.au because that's what you created your accoutn with, but that's fine, because to the end user it makes no difference, both domains will show the same site, as both domains are directed to the same hosting space on our server.
