Hi,
I was wondering if you could just fix a few things on my website www.twistedwillow.com.au
As I cannot change anything to do with the template, I was hoping you could do it for me. I would like my shop name and slogan to be bigger so it stands out on the top of the page. Can you also please shift the 'funeral tributes' on the top selection pane down so the whole sentence is on the second line and the same again with 'terms & conditions' so that the whole sentence is on the third line.
Thanks,
Danelle

Hi,
I don't think there is a way to make the funeral tributes appear on one line, (I'll check with our programmer) as the links just wrap whenever they reach the width of the page. Yopu could adjust the names of the previous pages to make them longer enough that the funeral tributes links falls over to the next line.

as for the site title, usually things stand out a lot more when there is a lot of "whitespace" around them. Non-designers don't know this and so tend to make things as big as possible in an attempt to make it stand out, where in actual fact, the opposite is true.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_space_(visual_arts) says:

"When space is at a premium, such as some types of magazine, newspaper, and yellow pages advertising, white space is limited in order to get as much vital information on to the page as possible. A page crammed full of text or graphics with very little white space runs the risk of appearing busy, cluttered, and is typically difficult to read.

Judicious use of white space can give a page a classic, elegant, or rich appearance. For example, upscale brands often use ad layouts with little text and a lot of white space. Inexpert use of white space can make a page appear incomplete."

I think it looks ok the way it has been designed, remember, a graphic designer stipulated that the best size for the title in this design - in order to maintain the elegant feel to it - is the size it is, , so any change will be like saying the graphic designer is wrong. But of course, it's your site, and you have already changed the style of the page font and page headings, so If you still want it bigger, I'll do it for you.

Cheers,
Roger

Hi Roger,
Thanks for that. I have changed the wording of one of the headers to make it all line up properly. I will leave the site title as is and let the "whitespace" do its magic.
Thanks,
Danelle
