Hello,

I am a new customer to Freesites and currently have my email addresses hosted with another company.
For now I would like this to remain unchanged ie Hosting Company to manage my emails and my website hosted
by Freesites.

Hosting company advises they can manage the DNS and point the website (A record) to my account with you.
Is this possible?

Thanks

Hi,

unfortunately we do not allow email addresses to be hosted elsewhere. This is a big job to set up, and makes everything 10 times more complicated if anything ever goes wrong with it.

Is there any particular reason why you can't just have the email addresses set up with us?

Hi Marianne

I'm Familiar with their services having used them for several years. Also I have paid annual fee upfront expiring in 8 months, may not get pro rata refund. There is not much information (or maybe too difficult to find) on your email hosting service.... does the $2.00 per month inlcude unlimited email addresses? What is the space available? How secure is the service?

Actually what is the hosting package for the freesites @ $12 per month what is the server space and data transfer etc?

Regards
Lynda

Hi,

it's $2 per email address per month, and you can set up the email addresses in your email program, such as windows live mail. Each email address has 50 MB of space, but as long as you set it to delete the emails from the server after sending and receiving you will never run out of room on the server.

Your freesites website can be as big as you like, there is no limit on the amount of pages or images you can have.

If your current domain host wants to set the a record of your domain to point to our hosting server, then that's fine, the IP address is 122.201.78.138.

What Marianne was saying was that we can't have your domain pointed to our servers (normal procedure) and then change the mail mx records to point elsewhere.

The form on your contact page will alwaqys send to the email address that you login with, which you can change at any time from your settings page.
