Hi there, I have two queries in relation to uploading images and other files, 1. I am trying to upload a PDF file as a link within the website, however it keeps coming up with the error: I have had no problem with this in the past. Do you have any ideas on this? 2. Also this is both a question or a suggestion! Are we able to manage our images and other uploaded files separately instead of being within a page/document. It would be great if you could log-on and manage it/upload photos/delete etc. This would really speed up the process as it is so slow to load sometimes (due to my internet connection). My website is www.stampwithme.com.au Thankyou and regards, Carolyn |

Hi, What is the error it is coming up with? If it says Internet Explorer has stopped working, then You'd be using Internet Explorer Version 8, and in this new version, there are a lot of issues woith javascript, and this error occurs. The best thing I can suggest until we change the built in editor, is to download Firefox Browser, as there has never been and issues with Firefox. Download it from www.firefox.com And, there will soon be (in the next couple of months) a complete overhaul of the freesites system and a separate image manager is a good idea - I'll see if it can be incorporated. |

Hi Roger, Thanks for replying. I am using the Firefox Browser and had the problem when I was uploading 2 different PDF files. I have since been able to upload a third (and different) PDF file successfully. So who knows, maybe there was a problem with the document it self! I look forward to seeing the overhaul and fingers crossed for a separate image manager! Thanks again. Carolyn |

Ok, Make sure the pdfs are no bigger than about 2 MB as well, as that's the limit for uploads due to browser timeouts and server PHP limits. | |||

Hi Roger, I'm back again with the same problem. I am trying to upload PDF files (I checked and there under 2mb) and I'm getting the same error message that it is an invalid file type. I'm using Mozilla and really not sure why this is happening. As I mentioned earlier, I have not had problems uploading PDF's in the past. Is there any way around this - it's causing a few issues for me. Thanks Carolyn |

Hi Roger, I'm not sure if I have your email address. I would appreciate if you could either post here or email me at XXXXXXXXX(removed). Either is fine! Thanks, Carolyn |

Hello, It's me again. I am still struggling to upload PDF documents. I don't know why as they are under the size requirement. The error message that comes up, tell me it is an invalid file type and should be a jpg or gif file. I'm clicking on the Insert Link icon to do this. Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong! Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Carolyn |

Hi, Sorry you're having difficulty, I'll get our programmer to look into this ASAP. I'd say it is to do with the latest upgrade to the file uploading part of the editor. Thanks for your patience! |

Hello Carolyn, Are you clicking the image manager icon to upload the PDF file? the image manager only allows images to be uploaded. Please try this: select the text in the page you would like to link to the PDF and then click on link icon, it will show a window from which you can upload the PDF and link to it. If you still have any problems, please post back here. Thank you |

Hello Roger & Qads, Thanks for getting back to me. I am highlighting/selecting text before clicking on the link icon, which is why it surprises me I come up with an error saying it is the wrong file type. I have been using PDF Creator to create my PDF pages, so I'm not sure if that is part of the problem. Thanks, Carolyn |
