Yes, it's quite simple.

www.freesites.com.au has your web address (ie. your search term) listed on the home page, so a search in google for that will bring up all the sites that have that search term text on a page in the site.
I notice that you also have that text on your home page, so in time google will find your site and index it. However, that result is completely useless.

The thing is, no one will search for your web address, because if they know your web address then they would simply type it into the browser address bar and go directly there. What people search for is a product or service, so you need to make sure your site will show up for those sort of searches.

To find a site such as yours, people would type in 'visual artist braidwood' for example.

Also, keep in mind that your site has only been up for a week, so Google hasn't visted it, and therefore hasn't indexed anything from your pages.

Dear whoever,
What is a realistic time to expect google to index my site using a direct search of my web address
ie: the actual address, not a random search by hopeful punters
but people who have been directed to it through complementry advertising & business cards?????
Cheers JB

Hi,

As I said, Google doesn't need to index your site for people to be able to visit it - they can type your web address into the ADDRESS BAR in their browser, and not search for it using a search engine such as Google.

That's how everyone visit websites, they type the web address into the address bar of a browser.

As far as how long google will take to visit your site and index it, They say up to 6 weeks.

Don't forget, you can submit your site to Goole at http://www.google.com/addurl/
