Hi,
I have only just listed with you for my website and am wanting to make some changes, however, when I go into a page to edit I have 2 issues.

1. I make some slight changes (eg delete 1 photo) and when I go to Save or Save and Publish the following message appears. Error-sorry we are unable to save your changes, please try again. I have gone as far as to log out and log back in.

2. I want to change the overall font, I highlight the relevant text and in the font drop down box I select the font and it does not change, I try the size and that doesn't change, this is only on certain pages, not all!!!

Also, how can I have my website not live until I am satisfied with the changes and ready to go!

I look forward to your reply.
Kind Regards

Kelly
PS website is www.chefinyourkitchen.com.au

Hi Kelly,

Can you tell me which page is showing you the error about not being able to save? - Please tell me what you try to do on the page specifically, so I can try to reproduce the error.

The font changing should work ok, it always has for everyone else, can you tell me what your browser is and what version? for example, is it Internet Explorer version 8? (To check the version number, click the help menu in internet explorer and choose the 'about Internet Explorer' from that menu).
Having said this, you shouldn't really change the font if you want a professional looking website, as the best font for the design template has already been chosen by our designer, and having different fonts everywhere makes the site look a bit backyardish.

While it would be a while before google would pick up your pages and therefore anyone would find your site, you can have pages not live by just clicking save instead of 'save and publish'.

Cheers,
Roger

Hello Roger
Yes I am using Internet Explorer Version 8.

After posting the first message yesterday I went back into the site and was able to make some changes, however after 5 minutes it stopped working again, pages that had previously had the error message were ok to start with.

I have gone on now and was able to make changes to all pages except the WELCOME page, to streamline the page (yes I am trying to NOT make it look like a backyard job!!) with the rest I wanted to change the heading into Italics, I made the change and when I went to save I got the same error message as yesterday!

Thank you

HI Roger
I am still having problems with the error message and really want to get my website finished. I cannot make any changes to welcome page without the error message when I try to save. I have even connected from a different computer with Internet Explorer Version 6. PLEASE HELP ASAP. Thank you
Kelly

Hi,

you can try with Firefox, we never see any issues using that browser. www.firefox.com. Never use internet explorer 6, that's so old Im surprised anything works in it!

I just logged into your site, selected the heading on the welcome page, made it italics, clicked thwe save and publish button, and it saved ok.
I'm using Internet explorer 8.0.7600.16385

I have also just set the page heading to use the heading 1 style, see if yopu like that - that's what the page headings are supposed to use there in that template.

Hi again,

I notice you put the text and image in a table on your home page, you might like to have the table wiothout borders, if so, just right click in the table and choose 'table properties' and from there you can set the border to zero.

Thanks for the tip Roger. I do like the default font you set up in my welcome page, however when I go into the other pages to match it so the whole webpage is streamlined I cannot do it. I highlight the text and click on the default font but it does not change. I know you said that no-one else seems to have this problem but I am feeling really frustrated. Is it my computer that is useless (apart from me obviously!!)?
Thanks

Hi,

no the reason is that you have already aplplied the font styles to the headings, and they dont go away when you set it as a heading. You'd need to remove the first styles you set. If you like, I can go though each page for you and set the headings up using the heading style? No charge for that.

That's a very kind offer, thenk you. I have actually fixed it by deleting the relevant pages and starting again, all pages are now uniform, obviously still a work in progress but definitley getting better.
Hopefully you won't hear from me again in the near future, thank again for your time.
regards
Kelly
