Hello,

It's more than a year (probably) since I raised this question, but again (and I have for some time) - I have been unable to upload documents into my web pages. I can't upload PDF or Word files.

I use the link button to upload doc's and get the following error message:

The file you are trying to uploaded is not allowed or not the correct file type, if it's an image file, please upload GIF or a JPG

Can you please assist. My website is www.stampwithme.com.au

Thanks,
Carolyn

Hi,

that error message would suggest you are trying to use the image manager to upload the files. To upload pdf's or doc's simply highlight the word you want to link to them, click the link icon (a little globe with a chain on it) and then upload the file or choose it from the list that pops up.

I just logged into your account and did this, and it's working fine.

There is a video in the HELP PAGES - http://support.mediatwo.com.au that show you exactly how to do it.

Hi Roger,

Unfortunately I was trying to upload the pdf's or doc's as you suggested, but I kept getting that message anyway! When I clock on the link icon, the menu comes up with Link/Email tabs. I then try to upload the file but continue to get that error message. It worked in the past for me, but hasn't now for some time!

Can you have another look please!

Thanks,
Carolyn

Hi,

Marianne tested for you using the Firefox browser. I have just tested on your site in Internet Explorer version 8 and I recorded myself doing it, which you can view at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRwA2s3hE1g

If the same procedure shown there doesn't work for you then you need to upgrade your web browser to the latest version (especially if you have the ancient Internet Explorer version 6) or download and use Firefox at www.firefox.com. I dont think you'll ever have any issues with Firefox, but Internet Explorer can be temperamental at times.

Hi again.

Thanks for looking into it for me. Interestingly, I am running Firefox (version 3.5.6) and encountered the error. I have just upgraded it to version 3.6 and still get the same error. Out of curiousity, I tried through Internet Explorer (version 8) and it worked.

Don't figure!!

Carolyn

Well, there's one for the books! - Something doesnt work in someones firefox. Must be a first! - anyway, I'm glad you were able to do it.
There will be a new editor imoplemented soon, which should solve a lot of current compatability issues.

Thanks,
Roger
