Hi
I've just put together my first quotes and discovered, unlike invoicing, I am unable to open them as a PDF and therefore save and email them.

I also came across a bit of a problem when in the 'Quotes Book' I clicked on the quote link (with the PDF icon next to it) thinking it would open the quote as a PDF it emailed it to the client!!!

Is there a way to enable the quotes to be opened as PDFs?

Thanks

Hi,
When I click the item with the pdf icon in the quotes page, it pops up a download box for me to download the PDF. There is no way that clicking that link can possibly email it to the client, the ability just isnt in the link.

Here is a video of me doing it just now:

What web browser are you using?

I also notice that you have zero as your GST amount. If you are invoicing other businesses then you need to charge GST, otherwise, they can deduct 46.5% of the invoice total from your invoices. If they don't deduct that, then you will have to pay that in your tax return for each invoice you generate.

Hi
It's working okay now...I'm guessing it was something to do with my end. The link would open a new window and tell me that my message had been sent and then consequent attempts would tell me it could not resend. Perhaps this is just a sign I shouldn't work after 5pm. My browser is Firefox.

My understanding is that as a sole trader earning under $75K and not registered for GST I don't need to charge it on my invoices - however, I am still required to include GST at NIL or $0.00 which is included on my invoices.

Thanks

Hi,
Yes, sorry, I was thinking of the rule that applies to having an ABN, at this link:
http://www.theage.com.au/business/abn-requirement-depends-on-who-you-do-work-for-20081022-56fo.html

and page 4 of this PDF from the ATO: http://www.ato.gov.au/content/downloads/BUS69534checklistnewbus.pdf

Cheers,
Roger
