** Unwired accounts require authentication on the outgoing mail server. The username is 'username.unwired' and the password is as provided.

If you can't send email, then that's between you and your ISP (Internet Service Povider — who you pay for your internet connection), because you should be using your ISP's mailserver to send all your email. In fact some ISPs insist on it, which could be the issue you are experiencing.

In your email account settings, make sure your SMTP setting is set to your ISP, such as mail.bigpond.com or mail.optusnet.com etc. (See ISP table for common SMTP settings.)
