Overview:

This admin area is where you will be editing your pages, creating new ones, and managing any other modules you have active.
Please take the time to become familiar with all the options.

Settings

You must set the options in here. Most important is making sure the email address is kept up to date, as that is where the forms will be sent when visitors fill them out. If you host with us, then your site visitor statistics will be accessible from here too.

Site Restore

This is the most overlooked feature, yet potentially the most important. It is used to create backups of your site content and settings, to which you can completely restore your site to at any time. Each backup, or "restore point" is a snapshot of all your site's pages, content and settings. You can create as many as you like, whenever you like, and you can set your site back to any of them at any time. A backup is automatically made every time you login, and the system keeps the last 10 backups only

Manage Pages

This is where you can create new pages and subpages, rename their links as they will appear in the navigation, and change the order of them by dragging them up or down. Also, hide or show and delete them.

Open Access / Password Req.
You can password protect any page that isnt a sub page (subpages are automatically protected when their parent page/section is protected. Set the password to access these pages in the site settings page.

Modules

This is a list of available modules you can incorporate into your site. These may or may not be unlocked depending on your original specified requirements for your site.

Site Pages

This list a list of your current pages, for easy quick editing. The order they show on the left is the order they will show in your site's navigation. Change their order in the 'Manage pages' section.

NOTE: It is important to realise that this and any 'CMS' is not a 'web authoring' tool, but a page editing tool. This means that it isn't designed to handle the construction of detailed and elaborate page layouts, but rather just to edit existing text and images. If you try to do much more than that, you may run into trouble, and the price you paid for this system to edit your pages' content does not include time spent by Media Two to fix or repair any pages that get messed up. Such repairs can be performed for at the rate of $35 per hour. We suggest you set a backup restore point before you make any major changes.

Managing Pages

  • how can I change the order of my links in the navigation?

Click 'manage pages' on the left, then under "edit your pages" click and drag the individual page row up or down to change the order of them.

  • how do I hide a page from my site without deleting it?

Click 'manage pages' on the left, then under "edit your pages" Click the word "showing" that corresponds to your page you want to hide. The word will change to "hidden" in red indicating that it is now hidden.

  • using tables

When adding tables, the design may benefit from it being 99% wide instead of 100%. If you find the content area (with the table) drops below the left hand navigation, then setting it to 99% will fix this.

  • how do I copy and paste in the wysiwyg in FireFox ?
    1. Type in about:config into the URL bar in your FireFox browser and press enter.
    2. Scroll down until you see the following option in the list:
      "signed.applets.codebase_principal_support"
    3. Double click that option and it will turn bold indicating that it is now on.
    4. Go back to your HTML editing control and refresh the screen. A popup security dialog window will appear. Select the "Remember this decision" option and click "Allow".
    5. Close all your FireFox browser windows and restart the browser.
    6. Your HTML control should now have all the options enabled in FireFox.

System Features

  • Site Restore

This is a foolproof backup system which will backup your entire content. Use it like the windows system restore feature, and set restore points. This will create a database file in your site that you can use to restore the site back to at any time. Think of it as capturing the state the site is currently in, for later reverting to. The only thing this will not restore is any images you have deleted since making the restore point.

  • site search

Simply assign which page you'd like a search system to show up on, and it will all just work.

  • guest book

As with the search, just choose where you'd like a guest book to appear. Visitors can then leave comments which will show up on this page. As admin you have the ability to delete comments.

  • gallery

A full featured and visually cool gallery system is integrated into any page you choose to have it display on. add as many photos as you like, with titles and descriptions. Drag them to change their order, edit the descriptions, title and image and the ability to delete are included.
